Mercy of the Mind is an action-packed ride which answers many of the questions set in Book 1, while laying the landscape for Books 3 and 4. Ian and Minaya are married now, so Mercy of the Mind brings us into the intimacy of their relationship. This book also develops the characters of Taven and the mysterious Erona. Each of the four, battle with the inner-workings of their minds as past traumas are agitated and new struggles are brought to light. There is rarely a moment for them to live their lives in stride as each event is laid out right on top of another. Mercy of the Mind is a slightly shorter read at 140,000 words, where A Love Predestined came in at around 160,000, but I promise you the plot gives even more to dissect.
